2ème Double Anniversaire/2nd Double Birthday

Well, one more year is over; 2 years as a vegan, 2 years that this website has been created. Unfortunately not a lot of recipes this year, but I hope that the reviews about US and Canada will be useful for some of you. I also want to thank those who come here, and those who leave comments – after all, the website also lives thanks to you!
As I am still in the US (coming back tomorrow!), I could not make a recipe for the birth date. BUT, in January for new year I told that there would be a surprise, it comes a bit late I know … Anyway, here we go, a website a bit re-done with a red less bright, a new banner, and now all articles are available in French and in English. Also the coming back of the Facebook page after several months of absece, a Twitter account and new partnerships.
Copyright for the design by Mr Kardinal from VG-Zone, that I, of course, thank a lot a lot. And for the picture in the banner, it has been taken by Nicolas Pouet (Lightfield).
Let’s go for another year!
Hocus-Pocus Break – 3rd Drawer : Lips (ENG)
Hocus-Pocus : Lips
For this third article, a summary for 4 Lip Balms that I found in the US and Canada. Depending on the locations where you go, the choice for this kind of products being Vegan is more or less wide, but at least there is the possibility to find them (not like in France).
« Eco Lips Bee Free » of the brand EcoLips is available in the US but also in Canada. The smell becomes a bit unpleasant because the different flavors of Oils and other Wax/Butters does not fit extremely well with the Lime. It is pretty oily so it is better to use it when your lips are really dried.
Ingredients: *Organic Jojoba Oil, *Organic Sunflower Oil, Candelilla Wax, *Organic Cocoa Butter, *Organic Lemon Oil, Vitamin E, *Organic Lime Oil, *Organic Calendula, Rosemary Extract, Vitamin C. * Organic. (Gluten Free)
Price: $3,49 for 0,15oz
« Come Closer Chocolate » of the brand Ethically Engineered – you cannot find more local as it is from Chicago, but they also deliver abroad and prices are more than reasonnable. You need your finger to put this balm on your lips, so it is not the more hygienic way. Lips do not become brown when you use it as it is simply a smell of Chocolate. I think it is really well for a daily use, it hydrates as it should do.
Ingredients: Organic Hemp Seed Oil, Organic Virgin Coconut Oil, Candellila Wax, Rosemary Extract, Natural Sweetener Stevia , Vitamin E and Essential Oils.
Price: $4,00 for 0,15oz
« Lip Balm Candy Cane » of the brand Organic Tea Tree Oil (purely Canadian). Smells offered are all more tantalizing the ones than the others, but be careful and check the ingredients as some products may not be Vegan. A sweet smell that then gives way to the Mint, I love it. It is too very good for a daily use.
Ingredients: Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax, Aroma*, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Mangifera Indica (Mango) Seed Butter, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Tocopherol, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Seed Extract, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree Leaf) Oil. *Aroma = Natural Flavor Only
Price: $4,99 for 0,12oz
« Sun 15 Lip Balm » of the brand Lavera that you can find in the US, Canada, and if you are lucky enough in France. The sweet smell is really pleasant, it is a bit hard to use at the beginning but after several uses it becomes easier. However, be careful with the white-lip effect – it is better to use it when lips are in a pretty good shape, only to hydrate them a bit otherwise imperfections will show up for sure.
Ingredients: *Ricinus Oil, Olive Oil*, Glycine Soja Oil*, Carnauba Wax, Silica, Candellia Wax, Jojoba Oil*, Almond Oil*, Sunflower Seed Oil*, Calendula Extract*, Aloe Vera Extract*, Hippophae Rhamnoides Extract*, Shea Butter*, Vitamin E, Vitamin CMinerals: Coated Titanium Dioxide* Organic.
Price: $7,90 for 0,15oz
Stores: Whole Food Market (Chicago, Toronto), Health Food Stores (Canada) and Online
